Alright Atlanta, Georgia autumn is drawing near!  With fall comes Georgia Football, pumpkin spiced lattes, and enjoying long walks in the park while watching those beautiful leaves change color and fall…but why do the leaves fall from the tree?  It’s not just the changing of the season or the wind blowing that makes the leaves fall.  The process of leaves falling is designed to help the tree survive the harsh cold of winter.  During the warm growing season, leaves use sunlight, water, and air to produce food for the tree to help reproduction.  When days grow colder, the food production naturally decreases, making the leaves fall as they are no longer needed.  However, there is no need to worry. With the arrival of spring, new leaves will sprout allowing the process to start again.
